THE UPCOMING:
The Upcoming on the Da Terra Nano-Lot Debut
London arts and lifestyle title The Upcoming reports the Daterra Masterpiece partnership with Rafael Cagali's two Michelin starred Da Terra.
The Upcoming, the London arts and lifestyle publication, reported in June 2026 on the partnership between Difference Coffee and Da Terra, Rafael Cagali's two Michelin starred restaurant in Bethnal Green, to debut a rare Brazilian nano-lot in London fine dining.
The coffee came through the Daterra Masterpiece Auction, the private sale of experimental lots from the Brazilian estate's research and development programme, and was both the highest scoring and the smallest lot released, with only 19 kilograms available worldwide. Tasting notes run to dark cocoa, dried stone fruit, citrus like acidity and a long finish. The piece records the personal fit of the collaboration: Cagali, whose Brazilian heritage gives the project personal significance, joined Amir Gehl on roasting day to watch the lot go from green coffee to finished product, and restaurant and estate share a name drawn from the Portuguese for "from the earth". Amir calls a two Michelin starred chef shaping a coffee's taste extraordinarily rare. The coffee is served exclusively at Da Terra from 2 July, while stocks last.
The launch was also picked up in Country & Town House's Great British Brands Summer Guide 2026, which called the lot one of the rarest coffees offered in a fine dining setting.
