Newsweek on Reinventing the Coffee Pod

Nicholas Foulkes profiles Amir Gehl for Newsweek: how one entrepreneur is reinventing the coffee pod for gourmet brews.

Newsweek featured Difference Coffee in "How One Entrepreneur is Reinventing the Coffee Pod for Gourmet Brews", a January 2017 profile of founder Amir Gehl by the writer and historian Nicholas Foulkes.

The article tells the story of how a Nespresso machine, a gift from Amir's wife, convinced him that a capsule at home could taste better than the coffee served in many fine restaurants, and how that conviction became Difference Coffee: specialty grade beans bought from the world's great estates, including Geisha from Hacienda La Esmeralda in Panama, roasted in the UK and sealed in capsules at peak freshness. Early clients named in the piece include The Palace hotel in Gstaad and Heston Blumenthal's Hinds Head. Foulkes tasted the Jamaica Blue Mountain and called it the best capsule coffee he had tried.
