ClassPaper Introduces Difference Coffee to Spain

The Spanish luxury magazine profiles the most expensive specialty capsules and the Michelin kitchens that favour them.

ClassPaper, the Spanish luxury magazine, profiled Difference Coffee in December 2023, in a feature by Marta Villalba presenting the brand to Spanish readers as the most expensive specialty coffee capsules and the favourites of Michelin starred restaurants.

The piece tells the founding story in Amir Gehl's own words, a Nespresso machine at home, a trip to Harrods for Kona, and the realisation that the world's best coffees were not available in capsules, and surveys the range on sale at the time: the Esmeralda Geisha from Hacienda La Esmeralda, limited to 378 boxes and the favourite of Antonio Guida at Milan's two Michelin starred Seta, the Elida Estate Geisha grown beside the Volcán Barú national park, the Jamaica Blue Mountain from the Sir John's Peak nano-lot, and the Wild Kopi Luwak from Gayo Estate, with capsules from 1.50 to 7.60 euros. It names the chefs serving the coffee, among them Wolfgang Puck, Guy Savoy, Kei Kobayashi, Pierre Gagnaire and Enrico Crippa, notes the recognition at the Walpole British Luxury Awards 2023, and previews a coming Yellow Catuai grown in Costa Rica by a Japanese producer. For Spanish readers the message was simple: not yet in any Spanish restaurant, but shipping to Spain regularly from the website.
