A winner profile at the international taste awards, where Difference Coffee ranked among the highest scoring coffees of 2022.
The Aurora International Taste Challenge published a winner interview with founder Amir Gehl in September 2022, after Difference Coffee made a splash as one of the highest scoring coffees at that year's awards, entered in capsule form.
The interview covers how the company came about, from early experiments packing ground Kona into Nespresso style capsules, and the sourcing discipline behind the range: high scoring, single estate coffees, many of them competition champions, graded on the Specialty Coffee Association's 100 point system and never blended, because, as Amir puts it, "There's no need to blend what is already the best". It also records the reach the approach has earned, more than 100 luxury hospitality venues and Michelin restaurants, with the largest markets in the UK and Italy, and direct online customers in over 40 countries.
